Volunteer

We are looking for Store Support Volunteers.

Individuals that can volunteer one day per week (Mon, Wed or Sat) from 8:30am to 1pm for 6 to 12 months at a time.

Store Support Volunteers support the Store Admin by assisting in the store, working with clients to check them in, help obtain their groceries, stocking shelves, taking in donations and moving groceries from one place to another.

The Mission of the Chino Neighborhood House is to provide groceries/food and hygiene items to low to moderate income families and individuals (including students and senior citizens) living within the Chino Valley Unified School District boundaries allowing them to offset what they may not have at home with a goal of providing a healthy lifestyle to our neighbors providing an improved quality of life.

Responsibilities:

  • Intake donations
  • Sort Donations
  • Stock Shelves
  • Work with clients in store to obtain their groceries


Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Heart for service and helping people
  • Positive personality and attitude


Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Volunteers are constantly required to stand, walk, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to stand for up to 5 hours with minimal breaks or sitting.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (daily).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The work environment is usually well-lit.
  • The work environment is usually clean and well-ventilated.
  • The employee frequently interacts with customers and the public.
  • Should have a heart for service /for others
  • Work with all ethnicities and age groups

Volunteer

  • Max. file size: 512 MB.

The Chino Neighborhood house is always looking for volunteers. We need drivers, shoppers, sorters, shelf stockers, people with trucks and more.  As a volunteer with the Chino Neighborhood House you will be making a difference in our community.  Also see our food drive page to host a food drive!
